which is divided in to the three segments named past, present and future.
The wise people have accepted that the rulers and the policies set by them also
plays a vital role in these changes.
With the changing times, generation gap also comes to existence.
It's a natural phenomenon. If wise elders of the family visualise the thoughts and
nature of the new generation positively, then the bond of understanding
becomes helpful to both the generations. Youth is running to fulfill his/her
wishes and desires desperately. The elders have to provide
them the guidance of their experiences. As this novel explores,
the understanding of wise elders can be converted to blessings for the new generations.
In this novel, the differences in thoughts are also explored between the generations,
(which are there to show) the political environment of the respective time.
The wise and clever elders of this story,
who believe in keeping the moral and ethical values,
Somnath Shastri and Tejubai, the owners of the qualities like commonsense,
dedication towards the duty and responsibility and humanity; plays their role
as the elders of the family perfectly. I have tried to show a way of living to
the elders by the medium of these characters.
The self discipline accepted by the elders,
is equally important as freedom and it is the ultimate truth.
